I felt very angry last Saturday, because I found out my son Peter lied! In the morning, he told me he was going to the bookstore with his classmate Bill. But I saw Bill in the supermarket with his mum half an hour later.
Oh, my goodness! Where did Peter go and what was he doing? I got worried and angry. I rushed out and looked for him everywhere.
At last, I found him. He was selling flowers in the park. Why did he sell flowers there? I rushed to him. He was surprised to see me.
Then he said to me in a low voice, "I'm sorry, Dad! I need some money."
"But what for?" I was still angry.
"For your birthday."
"My birthday?"
"I'm a big boy now. I want to send you a gift from myself!"
Oh, my dear son! It was a kind and loving lie.
