Once upon a time, in a small town called Willowville, there lived a young girl named Holly. Holly was a cheerful and friendly girl and always hoped to make more friends. She moved to Willowville and was excited to start her new school.
On her first day of school, Holly walked into the classroom with a big smile on her face. She looked around and saw a girl sitting alone at a desk. The girl had long hair and was wearing a bright pink dress. Holly decided (决定) to go over and introduce herself.
“Hi, I'm Holly. What's your name?” Holly asked with a friendly voice.
The girl looked up and smiled. “I'm Lily,” she replied softly.
Holly noticed that Lily seemed a little shy, so she tried to make her feel more comfortable. “Do you want to be my friend?” Holly asked, hoping that Lily would say yes.
Lily hesitated(犹豫) for a moment and then nodded. “Yes, I would like that,” she said. Her voice was becoming more confident(自信的).
From that day on, Holly and Lily became inseparable. They sat together in class, ate lunch together, and even played together during breaks. Holly introduced Lily to her other friends, and soon Lily became a part of their group too.
One day, Holly and Lily were walking home from school when they saw a stray(流浪的) dog. The dog looked sad and lost. Holly felt sorry for the poor dog and wanted to help. “Lily, let's try to find the owner of this dog,” Holly said. Lily nodded and they both started asking people in the neighbourhood if they knew who the dog's owner was. After a while, they found out that the dog's name was Max and he had run away from his owner's house. Holly and Lily decided to take care of Max till they could find his owner. They made a small house for him in Holly's backyard and gave him food and water. Max was grateful(感激的) for their help.
