Printing the Homes of the Future
The world’s first eco - sustainable(生态可持续的) houses have been 3D printed in Italy. They are the idea of Italian architect(建筑师) Mario Cucinella. The houses have been made from reusable and recyclable materials. Most of them are from local soil and can be used in any climate. They are also a good way to deal with the climate emergency.

A US company has created “dome(圆屋顶) homes”. The company says they can last up to 500 years and stand up to fire, floods and earthquakes. The homes are made of bioceramic(生物陶瓷). This material can withstand forest fires. In a flood, little water can go in. In an earthquake, because of the building’s shape, the house will stay standing. If people need to move, the homes can be separated and rebuilt.
