However, shadow puppetry is not as popular as before because more people like to watch TV, films and online videos. Mr Wang says that many shadow puppetry performers try to update their shadow plays. "Our plays aren't as long as before, and we sometimes add modern things, like famous pop songs, to surprise people." It seems to be working—everyone really enjoyed tonight's show!
