Practice makes perfect
In the Northern Song Dynasty (北宋时期), there was a person called Chen Yaozi. He was good at archery (射箭术), and people all admired (钦佩) him.
One day, Chen Yaozi showed his archery skill again. He made eight or nine of ten shots on the target (靶子).

“Hooray! Hooray! Again!” the crowd (人群) shouted loudly.
Just then, an old man went by. He sold oil for a living. He had a look at Chen Yaozi and didn't leave.
“Do you understand archery? Am I the best archer?” Chen Yaozi asked proudly (自豪地).
The old man laughed and said, “There is nothing special. You are good at archery because you practise it a lot.”
Chen Yaozi was not happy and asked, “What can you do then?”
The old man said nothing. He put a gourd (葫芦) on the ground and covered (覆盖) its mouth with a coin (硬币).
He took a spoon of oil, held it high and poured the oil into the gourd.
The oil fell straight through the hole of the coin. No drop (滴) of oil fell on the coin.
The crowd shouted, “Amazing! Amazing!” Chen Yaozi felt ashamed.
The old man said, “There is nothing special. I can do this because I practise a lot.”
