The Watch from My Father
Time is very important in our lives. But time never had any importance in my life until I got a watch from my father. It was round in the center and was made of silver.
I got this gift on a grey-sky day. I had to go to the airport at 9:00 a.m. to pick up my uncle Ali and take him to my father's house. But I was late because I was shopping with my friends. Later on that day, around 11:00 a.m., I remembered my uncle, but it was late. He had left the airport and taken a taxi to my father's house.
I got to my father's house at 2:00 p.m. on the same day and looked at my father's angry face. I felt sorry at that moment. After I said hi to my angry father and tired uncle, my father handed me this watch that was a gift from him. He said, “What you did today was not very nice and you should be sorry for your behavior (行为).” I said, “Father, I'll never do it again.” He said, “I hope you have learned something important today. This watch will be a reminder for you.” He told me to take his watch and use it as an organizer (组织者) of my life. This watch is important to me because of the lesson that I have learned from it.
