Last week, our science teacher told us about electricity. Then he gave us a special task. We would try living without electricity for a weekend. My family thought it was interesting, so we decided to have the "Switch-off Weekend".
We usually watch a movie together on the weekend, but the TV doesn't work with-out electricity. On Saturday morning, we were worried that the food in the fridge would go bad because there was no electricity. At noon, it was so hot in the house, but we couldn't turn on the air conditioner. In the afternoon, we washed our clothes by hand. It took a lot of time. Life without electricity was so hard! But there were nice things too. On Sunday, we went on a bike trip and visited my grandparents in the countryside. We enjoyed a picnic in their garden, and we also played chess together.
This was a really good experience. It made me understand how important electricity is. We should always try to save it.
