Last weekend, my family took me to the Lake District (湖区). The first thing we did was what it is best known for — we visited some mountains and lakes. The mountains here are known as fells (丘陵), and Jana had planned a route (路线) which took us around five fells in one go. It was a six-mile-long route, which was quite long but the views were so beautiful we forgot about the time. We stopped at the top of a fell known as the Old Man of Coniston and enjoyed the green hills in front of us, as well as the lake Coniston Water itself over a cup of tea and some biscuits.

Once we had finished our walking, we had to find something to eat in the pub. Simon had his usual — a mixed grill — while Jana and I enjoyed some lovely fish and chips. The food was great, but my favourite part of this pub was the collie dog that was sitting with his owner at the table next to us. His owner told us that his name was Jack and he liked to make friends with everyone he met.
After lunch, we got back to visit another place. The drive was windy and I felt a little travel sick (恶心的). Jana advised me to put the windows down and let the cool air touch my face and that made me feel a little better. Simon was very excited about the next stop but I had no idea.
When we got there, the sun was beginning to set. We waited for the night sky to darken. Once it was dark, I came to know why they brought me here. The stars were so clear and bright! It was the perfect activity for a star lover like me. Jana brought her binoculars and we all took turns, lying on our backs in the grass and looking for different stars. What an amazing evening!
The next morning, we set off to the final stop — Lake Windermere. After driving carefully down the roads, Simon paid for a boat. We rowed it into the lake and enjoyed a small lunch of sandwiches as we enjoyed the views.
