I grew up in the woods. One of my favorite things to do in the woods was to go camping.
Most people go camping in campgrounds, where there are prepared areas for them to put up tents and spend the evening.
To me, real camping is about doing it in a DIY style. You go deep into the woods where no one else has been before you. You build a small shelter by using fallen trees, branches and leaves. You make your own fire for light and heat. And if you’re really skilled, you can go hunting or fishing for your dinner!
Sitting under the stars at night and getting away from civilization is one of the best things about camping. Everyone should get to experience it.
But if you go camping on your own, you’ll need to have the necessary skills. Otherwise, your parents should go with you.
