In spring, it is warm. Maddie loves spring. First Grandma comes and then the cranes(鹤). Every day, Grandma and Maddie go to see the cranes.
Hot summer comes. The days are long and lovely. Maddie and Grandma go to have a picnic. The days get cooler. Autumn is coming. Grandma will leave(离开) soon. “The cranes will leave too,” thinks Maddie. Cold winter comes. Maddie misses(思念) Grandma very much. Grandma sends(邮寄) a paper crane to Maddie. Maddie loves the paper crane. She makes lots of them.
Spring comes again. Maddie watches the sky every day. Who will come back first? Grandma or the cranes? But Grandma is sick(生病的). She can’t come. So, Maddie waits(等待) for the cranes. Warm spring is here. But the cranes are not. It is nearly summer when the cranes come. “Where have you been?” cries Maddie. “They were waiting for me,” says Grandma.
