When people talk about temple fairs(庙会)in China, they often think of Chinese loong and lion dances. However, people in Sihong, Jiangsu Province, will think of Qiangan Dance.
A qiangan is a stick made of bamboo or wood. There are copper(铜) coins on it. Qiangan Dance performers(表演者)use the qiangan to tap their arms, legs and other body parts. At the same time, they dance to the music. Because of its importance, Qiangan Dance was named an intangible cultural heritage(非物质文化遗产)in Jiangsu Province in 2023.
Hu Bo is the president of the Qiangan Dance Association in Sihong. He started learning it at a young age. He believes that Qiangan Dance shows the Huaihe culture. Sihong County is along the Huaihe River, which divides northern and southern China. “Qiangan Dance here also mixes the softer style of southern China with the stronger moves of northern China,” Hu said. “For example, it includes spinning(旋转)and forward flips(空翻), and I spend a long time practicing them.”
To gather more people who want to practice Qiangan Dance, Hu made a team in 2013. He has passed the traditional dance down to his students. Now, about 30 of them can perform Qiangan Dance on stage. He also shares videos of their performances online.
“Many people hope I can pass down and develop(发展)Qiangan Dance. This makes me want to bring it to a bigger stage,” said Hu.

2. C 细节理解题。根据第三段中“'Qiangan Dance here also mixes the softer style of southern China with the stronger moves of northern China.' Hu said. 'For example, it includes spinning and forward flips, and I spend a long time practicing them.'”可知,胡波说钱杆舞混合了中国南方更柔和的风格和北方更强烈的动作是因为它包括了旋转和空翻等动作。
3. B 推理判断题。根据第五段“'Many people hope I can pass down and develop Qiangan Dance. This makes me want to bring it to a bigger stage,' said Hu.”可知,胡波想把钱杆舞带到更大的舞台上,所以接下来可能会讨论如何让钱杆舞走向世界。
