My friend Sally and I decided to write down our resolutions together. We planned to set our alarm clocks an hour early so that we could finish the things on the list ( 清单).
The next morning, when I went into the kitchen at 5:45, my dad was so surprised to see me. He said, “Wow, who are you, and where is my sleep-loving daughter?”
“Sally and I need more time to keep our New Year’s resolutions,” I said, “So, from now on, I’m going to wake up early. And, look, I already did resolution No.1!” I showed my new hairstyle ( 发型) to my dad happily.
When having lunch at school, Sally and I sat together and ate the food on the list. Eric saw us and asked, “What are you eating? Does it taste good?” Sally took the list out and said, “Resolution No. 2 says our lunch has to be healthy, not necessarily delicious.”
One day passed, we did all the things on the list, tired but happy. Sally said, “If we want to do everything on the list better, we’ll have to wake up even earlier.” Then we agreed to set our alarm clocks half an hour earlier.
However, by Friday, we felt it was hard to keep them. That afternoon, Sally and I made a new resolution list. It was shorter and simpler.
