A woman had just moved to a new home. Her neighbors were a single mother and her little son. They seemed to be poor.
One night, the electricity was cut off for some reason. The woman lit a candle. After a few minutes, she heard a knock on the door. She opened the door. It was the little boy, her neighbor. He asked worriedly, “ Do you have any candles at home?” The woman thought, “Are they really so poor that they do not have any candles at home? I must not lend them any candles, or they will always borrow candles or something else from me. ” So she said to the boy loudly, “No!” When she was closing the door, the boy said with a smile, “ I guessed that you didn't have any candles. ” Then he took out two candles and said to the woman, “You must be scared without a candle. ”
