Children’s Day around the world
Children’s Day is a happy day for children. In China, Children’s Day is on June 1st. But in some countries, the date is different.
In Japan, some people celebrate two Children’s Days. One is on March 3rd for girls and one is on May 5th for boys. On May 5th, families fly colourful fish-shaped flags. Children also eat yummy rice cakes.
In Australia, children have Children’s Week in spring. It is the fourth week in October. The children can have fun for SEVEN days! They paint pictures, play ball games or listen to interesting stories.
In Mexico, Children’s Day is on April 30th. Kids usually have a chocolate drink at breakfast. They also have big parties with food and games on that day. Piñata is always their favourite part at the party. First, they put candies and toys in the piñata and hang it high. Next, they take turns hitting（击打）the piñata. After that, they share the candies and toys inside. So much fun!
