六、阅读与回答问题(每小题2分,共10分)
“Did you get any hongbao?” seems to be the question on everyone’s lips at the end of each Chinese New Year. Hongbao, also called red packet, is in fact a red envelope with gift money inside. It has had a long history. Long ago it was seen as a way of protecting children from evil spirits. Later it developed into more general best wishes and a blessing (祝福) on the young. Now the tradition is as strong as ever.
These years, the tradition of giving hongbao has gone digital. Many Internet companies enable people to send electronic hongbao on their smartphones.
Sending electronic hongbao has some advantages. First, it makes people closer to each other. You can send electronic hongbao to others no matter how far they are. Second, it can be sent to one person, or can be received by several people at the same time. Besides, you don’t have to pay any cost or wait as long as you would for a traditional bank transfer (转账). As a whole, it’s more convenient and simpler.
However, this new technological trend (趋势) also has a negative impact on the true meaning of Chinese New Year holiday. Some elderly people complain that young people are so crazy about grabbing hongbao that they spare little time for them.
