新素材 传统文化 Have you ever heard of the old tea forests of Jingmai Mountain? 1 The area includes nine villages, three old tea farms and three forests. It became part of the UNESCO World Heritage List(《世界遗产名录》) on September 17th, 2023.
2 But this is the first World Heritage site for tea culture. In the 10th century, the ancestors(祖先) of the Blang people(布朗族), the Dai people and some other ethnic groups(少数民族) came to live here. They found wild tea trees and started to produce tea from them. Now Jingmai Mountain still preserves the languages, customs and festivals of different ethnic groups. 3 Here, the local people have important festivals.
