Ⅲ.读写题(15分)
第一节 阅读短文,根据语篇内容,在方框内的缩写文章中,填入与短文意思最符合的单词,每空一词。(6分)
There's a shop called The Kinder Shop on a busy high street in Carlisle. The windows show many household things like candles, lamps and chairs. Outside, there are wooden boxes decorated with plants. But this shop is different from other shops. In this shop, you can buy anything without money.
Everything in the shop is given away by local businesses. People need to buy the things with their volunteer hours that they work at the nearby charities. The number of hours needed for each thing is written on its price label(标签). The shop has turned kindness into something that really changes the lives of locals.
Sara Talebaoui, the first one here to experience the meaningful process, passed by as the shop opened. She "got" a table and a bird box. It took her 4 weeks to pay for them by volunteering for 6 hours each week. "Today is my lucky day. I didn't know about this before. And I couldn't believe it when I was told that all these lovely things were provided without money," Talebaoui said.
The Kinder Shop has also influenced nearby shops. For example, Bramble House Hair Place now offers a "pay-with-kindness" activity. People who spend 15 minutes collecting rubbish in the town centre will get a free haircut.
"We would like to take the idea of kindness from Carlisle and spread(传播) it all over the country," said Des Moore, the leader of the city.
