Passage 2
Last summer, Amy and her friends went on a school trip to the beach.
They were very excited, but their teacher, Mr. Lee, reminded them about safety rules before they left.
“Remember, safety is very important,” Mr. Lee said. “When we are traveling, always stick with the group and be careful.”
The bus ride to the beach was very long, but everyone was happy. Amy made sure to keep her phone and wallet in her backpack, just as her teacher had told them. When they arrived, Mr. Lee gave them some more rules to follow.
“Never swim alone, always stay close to the lifeguard,” he said. “And be careful when crossing the road. Look both ways before you step.”
Amy and her friends enjoyed the day at the beach. They played in the sand, swam in the sea, and had a picnic. When it was time to go back, they walked together and waited for the bus. Amy was very careful to stay with her group and listen to Mr. Lee.
On the way home, Amy thought about how important it was to follow safety rules while traveling. “It’s better to be safe than sorry,” she thought. She was glad she had listened to her teacher and kept herself safe during the trip.
