Momofuku Ando is the inventor of instant noodles(方便面) who grew up in Japan. He was a self-made man who started his own clothing business at the age of 22. However, his business failed during the war.
After the war, Ando saw the terrible situation of people who were starving(挨饿) and wanted to do something to help them. Ando started his first food company that also made salt, but he soon realized that he needed to find a way to make food that was both cheap and easy to prepare.
Ando spent almost a year in trying different types of noodles and cooking methods in a small room. In 1958, he introduced his first instant noodle product, Chicken Ramen, which was a great success in Japan.
Ando continued to improve his product and developed Cup Noodle in 1971, which made instant noodles even more convenient. He also created Space Ram, a noodle product that could be eaten in space.
Throughout his life, Ando was known for his patience and belief in making food that was accessible(可使用的) to everyone. He believed that food could bring people together and it was the key to making the world better.
Momofuku Ando passed away in 2007, but his spirit lives on. Today, instant noodles are a main food in many parts of the world, and Ando's creative spirit continues to encourage people around the world.
