One hot day, an ant was looking for some water. After walking around for some time, he came to a river. To get the water, the ant climbed up a twig(细枝) carefully and reached out. But unluckily, he slipped and fell into the water.
A bird was in a nearby tree. She picked a leaf from the tree and dropped it onto the water near the ant. The ant moved to the leaf and got on it happily. The leaf soon brought the ant to the ground safely(安全地).
Just then, the ant heard something. He looked around. A man walked quietly over with a net. He wanted to catch the bird. The ant got worried. He couldn't let it happen. He quickly climbed up the man's leg and bit him on the hand. The man felt a sharp pain and had to drop the net. The bird then flew away.
