This makes beautiful columns of gas. The gas will get out when the ice melts in spring. When that happens, the water smells bad.
Heavy snow can be compressed into ice. What do you get when geothermal hot springs melt a long channel under the ice? An ice cave The ice inside has different thicknesses. It looks colourful in the sunlight. But don't stay there for too long— the ice cave can fall down.
