There is a big difference between knowing a country from social media and experiencing it in person. This is what a group of 15 students from the US 1 on an exchange visit to China.
For Ian Sierra, a 10th grader in the group, this was his first time travelling abroad, and he was 2 at first. “I felt if I messed up a bit, I would leave a bad impression,” he said.
