It was a cold, rainy day. My mother and I drove to a hill. It was difficult to make a two-hour trip along the highway(高速路) in such weather. I didn't want to go. But my mother asked me to go to see something at the top of the hill.
After driving for a long time, we stopped the car and got out. Walking along a path, we turned at a corner. From the top of the hill, I saw many flowers there, like a carpet(地毯) before us.
I had a lot of questions. Who planted these beautiful flowers? How? When?
As we went on, we saw a sign with words on it, "Answers to the Questions I Know You Are Asking."
The first answer was, "One Woman — Two Hands, Two Feet, and Very Little Brain(大脑)." The second was, "One at a Time." The Third, "Started in 1971."
On our way home, I was so amazed(惊讶的) by what we had seen. The woman changed the world, one bulb(一株) at a time. She started about 50 years ago. It might be just the start of an idea, but she kept at it. I thought to myself, "If I had a dream and worked hard on it, just a little every day, what could I get?" And then, I told my mother, "I will start tomorrow."
But my mother looked at me and said, " $\boldsymbol{\Delta}$."
