I lived in Beijing with my two foreign（外国的）friends this summer. I had a wonder-
ful time with them, and I also had fun learning English with them.
At first, things didn’t go well. The two girls couldn’t speak Chinese. So they ran into
some problems. For example, when they went out for shopping, they couldn’t talk with shop
owners（店主）in Chinese. So it was difficult for them to do some shopping. And at home,
we had a few problems, too. It was a little difficult for me to talk with them because my
English was not very good.
To solve all the problems, we three girls worked together and learned from each other.
We practiced talking in both English and Chinese every day. That was a big challenge（挑
战）for us. But we never gave up. We tried our best and made great progress at last. About
one month later, the two foreign girls could talk with me in Chinese and I could talk with
them in English, too.
In short, studying together is good for us. We all improved our language skills while
talking with each other.
