Do you like travelling? Poets from the past wrote many works about travel. Let's look at two poems below.
Leaving the White Emperor Town at Dawn

Leaving at dawn the White Emperor crowned with cloud;
I've sailed a thousand miles through Gorges in a day.
With monkeys' sad adieux(辞别) the riverbanks are loud;
My skiff(小船) has left ten thousand mountains far away.
This poem is about a happy boat trip. In 758, Li Bai was sent far away to Southwest China. Luckily, he could go back home the next year. He wrote this poem on his way back.
In old Chinese poems, the cries of monkeys often mean sadness, and mountains often stand for difficulties. But in this poem, the poet leaves both behind and doesn't worry. Li doesn't say "I'm happy" in words, but the poem shows happiness by exaggerating(夸张).

This poem is about a walk Wordsworth took in England's countryside. At first, the poet felt lonely. He said he was like a cloud in the sky. But when he saw golden daffodils by the lake, their beauty made him really happy.
He said the daffodils were "dancing in the breeze" like people. This is called personification(拟人). This poem shows that nature can make us happy.
