Dear Jimmy,
How are you doing these days? You asked me if I was a book lover. Well, I love many books. Today, I want to talk about one of them —The Lahti File.
About three years ago, I took a trip to Lahti, Finland. It was a nice city and I had a great time there. And this was the reason that The Lahti File by Richard MacAndrew interested me. Last year, when I saw it in a bookstore in Paris, I bought it right away. I'm learning English now, and this book is written for students.
The story takes place in Lahti, and MacAndrew describes the city very well. The main character is a man called Ian Munro. There are some strange deaths of fish and people in Lahti. Munro goes there to investigate (调查). Later he realizes that there is a terrible plan behind these deaths. He is also in danger.
If you like a good thriller, you will love The Lahti File. Munro is always in danger and has to fight everyone who tries to kill him. However, Munro can get through it in wonderful ways. I was surprised to see how clever he is!
I'll send you this book if you are interested. Please tell me in the next e-mail.
There are several other books about Ian Munro. I've bought them all and I'm going to read them all!
Yours,
Mario

When Daniel Seddiqui was 26, he traveled around America for a year. He visited all 50 states and worked for a week in each one. He didn't use buses or planes. He traveled by car from job to job. Hotels were too expensive for him. At night, he usually stayed in his boss' (老板的) home, or with one of the other workers. “People treated me well,” said Daniel. “They were very nice to me.”
But why did Daniel do this? “I wanted to learn about my country,” he said. “And I wanted to try lots of different jobs.” Things weren't always easy for Daniel. In Week 7, he worked as a farmer in Nebraska. “The days were long and I got really dirty,” he said. In Week 38, he worked as a cook in a fish restaurant in Maryland. “The job was boring.
