Last week, I read a book called The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The young boy, Tom Sawyer, grows up in a small town along the Mississippi River. Because his mother is dead, he lives with his aunt. Sawyer explores the countryside in a riverboat with his friends, starts secret clubs and looks for treasure.
The US writer Mark Twain wrote it in 1876. It has been popular around the world since it came out. The story is full of imagination, wonder and adventure. Moreover, Mark Twain makes fun of society through the eyes of Sawyer. There is one part which impresses a lot. Sawyer hates going to church. The writer uses Sawyer to make fun of religion and its old traditions.

Last month, I went on a trip to Beijing. It was an amazing experience. I visited the Great Wall, which is one of the wonders of the world. Standing on the Great Wall, I felt a sense of pride and awe. The history and culture behind it are truly remarkable. I also explored the Forbidden City, where I learned about the imperial history of China. The architecture and the stories within those walls were fascinating. Another highlight was trying the local cuisine, like Peking duck. It was delicious! This trip not only broadened my horizons but also gave me a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. It was a journey that I will always cherish.
