It's said that around the 1st century, a young teacher named Pliny, invented homework. Pliny asked his students to do at-home activities to improve their speaking skills. Another person who played an important role in the invention of homework is Horace Mann. He brought the idea of homework from Europe to America in the 19th century. Later, the idea spread to other places of the world. He was thought to be the "Father of Modern Homework".
