In 2023, Formula One(一级方程式赛车) started a women-only racing championship(锦标赛) named F1 Academy. From March 21 to 23, the first F1 Academy event of the 2025 season took place in Shanghai. This time, Chinese fans cheered for(为……加油) Shi Wei, the first Chinese woman to compete in the F1 Academy.

"My neck grew 2.5 centimetres thicker in three months," she said to China Daily.
Shi's entry into the F1 Academy shows the rise of Chinese women drivers in the sport. "I hope to encourage more women to join motorsports," Shi told China Daily.
