When it's sunny and warm, people love to spend time outside. Sadly, spending time outdoors can mean the risk of a bee sting蜇伤;蜂刺. Most stings are caused by yellow jackets.
Many people are afraid of the honey bee because of its sting. When a bee stings something, it will lose its stinger and die soon. If you leave it alone, it will not hurt you.
To avoid bee stings, shoes should always be worn outside. It is best to wear light-coloured clothing. Bees like bright colours. Children should not play near flowers.
If you or your child gets a sting, there are some things you should do:
1. Look for the sting and take it out.
2. Wash the sting area with running water for 20 minutes.
3. If the sting area still hurts, put ice on it for 10 minutes.
