Guanqian Street is one of the most famous shopping areas in Suzhou. Lying in the center of Suzhou's old town, the street is a place where history and modern life dance together.
In the Song Dynasty(960－1279), the street was called “Tianqingguanqian” because of the temple's(庙) old name. Later, during the Yuan Dynasty(1271－1368), people started calling it “Guanqian Street”.
