第二部分 阅读理解
Life has rainy days, but also moments are warmed by kindness. Sometimes, a gentle hand reaches out to say, “Don’t be afraid. Let’s walk together.” Here are some shared by readers:
Before my college entrance exams, a classmate was in a car accident. I gave a statement(证词) to the police. I thought that was the end of it. Years later at a reunion, some classmates told me they heard the driver was looking for me. They secretly formed a “guard team”, taking turns in small groups to follow me home every day after school to make sure I was safe. They joked about how hard it was to follow me without being seen. I never knew. (@Chicken soup)
In college, I struggled with depression. One day, I felt too heavy to walk and lay down in some grass. A girl walking with her boyfriend saw me, came over and asked, “Are you okay? Do you feel sick?” I said I was fine. She said, “Then I’ll stay with you,” and told her boyfriend to go back. She lay in the grass with me until I felt better. When I stood up to leave, she said, “Be happier, okay?” It meant so much. (@Xiaohui)
Years ago, I was crying quietly on a bus after a tough(艰难的) day at work. The conductor(售票员), a nice young man, walked over and gave me a piece of candy, saying, “Don’t cry.” That moment warmed my heart forever. (@JeJe)
A single act of kindness is like a small spark of light for those who see it. When passed on, that spark can grow into a flame, warming many more hearts. May we all carry and share that light on our life’s journey.
