Today was so cool! I’m a flytrap and I caught a bug!
In the morning, the sun shone on me. I opened my big “mouth” (it has two special leaves for catching bugs). My sharp “teeth” were all around the edges. I just stayed there, very still and looked around with all my might, waiting for a bug to come.
After a long time, I heard a “buzz-buzz” sound. Oh my! My heart started to beat really fast. I saw a small, fat bug flying around. It was getting closer and closer to me. I was so excited that I almost couldn’t keep still.
When the bug landed right inside my “mouth” and touched the little hairs inside, it was like a switch was turned on. In a second, my two “mouths” closed with a “snap”! The bug was trapped! It started to move around wildly, trying to get out. It was hitting the sides of my “mouth” and making noise, but I held on tight. I knew if I let it go, I’d lose my yummy food.
After a little while, the bug stopped moving. It was too tired. Now it was time for me to eat. I started to make some special juice. It was magic. It made the bug’s body turn soft and mushy. Then I could suck up all the good stuff.
As I ate, I felt really good. It was like a warm and happy feeling inside me. I could feel myself getting stronger. This bug gave me energy. After I finished eating, I took a short rest. I closed my “mouth” a bit and just enjoyed the sun. I was so happy that I caught this bug. I hope I can catch more bugs tomorrow!
