During the winter vacation, people in the south of China have travelled to the northeast, especially to experience the cool ice and snow trips in Northeast China.
Li Lei, a 14-year-old student, recently visited Northeast China with her family from Guangxi. They spent seven days enjoying the life there. They learned to make fish skin necklaces and experienced activities like skiing. They went to the Harbin Ice and Snow World, which Li Lei liked best. It came alive with unbelievable ice sculptures(雕塑) and other attractions. The sculptures were lighted at night, creating a magical winter wonderland.
One of the amazing activities was the local ice fishing on the frozen surface of Chagan Lake in Jilin Province. “This is my first visit to such a cold place. It is a
wonderful and unforgettable experience for me,” Li Lei said.
Li Mei, Li Lei's sister, who has studied in college, said, “Exploring the rich history and culture of the north has opened my eyes. I've been to Harbin in Heilongjiang Province before, but standing on the thick ice this time is still a new experience for me. The weather and food here are quite different from my hometown, offering me a wealth of different experience.”
