Every time I walked to school, I saw a pair of shoes in the small window. The shoes seemed to look at me quietly. They looked so nice that I really wanted to buy them.
When I arrived home, I always asked my grandma to buy the shoes for me. She always said the same words: “You have to buy them with your own money.”
So I tried to make money. I found a job in a small restaurant. I needed to serve the customers and I could keep all the tips. I was excited to get the job. I thought I could be rich. On my first day of working there, I saw another waiter taking six plates. I decided to try the same. Unluckily, all the plates fell and they were in pieces. I was fired. When the owner of the restaurant asked me to leave, I felt very sad.
The next thing I tried was walking dogs for my neighbors. It always seemed so easy in the movies, but it was hard for me to walk six dogs at the same time. The dogs always ran around. Every time I walked them, I had to run after them and I always felt tired. Even though walking dogs was tiring and boring, at least I made some money.
After getting enough money, I walked into the store and bought the shoes happily.
