If they've started well, she matches Garcia's speed bit by bit, but with the opposite foot. Since 2012, guides at the Paralympics can win medals too. But teamwork is about more than just winning. Garcia is a runner herself. “I like being a guide,” she said. “I feel more pressure (压力) at the Paralympics. I have to give 200% of myself to avoid mistakes and help my teammate do her best.”
In cycling, Hannah Chadwick and her guide, Skyler Espinoza, also work closely. When they ride together, Espinoza always holds Chadwick's hand before starting. “It's a reminder (提示) that we're in this together,” Espinoza said.
