La Tomatina, Spain
The festival started in 1945. Once a year, on the last Wednesday of August, Buñol turns into a sea of red and juicy tomatoes. Everyone throws tomatoes at each other. They wear old clothes because they know they’re going to get all covered in tomato juice.

Started in 1980, it happens in Chicago every year. It’s the largest one in the world just for food. Every July, for five whole days, people come to Grant Park to eat, play and have fun. There’s a special kind of pizza called deep-dish pizza which is really big.
Salon du Chocolat, France
It’s the biggest chocolate festival in the world. It started in 1996. And it takes place from late October to early November. Chocolate-makers come together in Paris to show off their chocolate creations. You can try many types of chocolate. In addition, there’s a chocolate fashion show.
Pizzafest, Italy
It’s a whole festival just for pizza lovers! Since 1995, every September, in Naples, over 100,000 pizzas have been made just for this festival. You can enjoy different kinds of pizzas and can also learn how to make pizzas. What’s more, there’s live music and chances for you to win prizes.
