I’m a Chinese girl. My English name is Kathy. Last year, my mother and I stayed in America and went to an American family to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve.
Christmas is the most important festival in the Western world. It is on December 25th. We bought some presents for our American friends on our way to their house.
They prepared different kinds of gifts for their family and guests. We can see Christmas candles, cakes, cards, little toys and biscuits in their living room. And sometimes they put up a beautiful Christmas tree at home.
There was a Christmas tree in the corner. How beautiful it was! We had a big meal. After dinner, they told us some interesting stories about Christmas. We went to bed at midnight. We knew Santa Claus was not true, but we were still waiting for Santa Claus with white beard (胡子) to bring us presents. And we got many beautiful presents the next morning.
I will never forget that Christmas, because I had a good time, and I also felt that the foreign culture is different from Chinese culture.
