A Trip to Hangzhou
Last summer, my family and I went on a trip to Hangzhou, a beautiful city in Zhejiang Province. We stayed there for three days and had a wonderful time.
On the first day, we visited the West Lake. It was even more beautiful than I had imagined. The water was so clear that we could see the fish swimming in it. We took a boat trip on the lake and saw many famous places, such as Leifeng Pagoda and Su Causeway. While we were enjoying the view, our guide told us an interesting story about the White Snake. It was really fascinating.
The next day, we went to Lingyin Temple, also known as the Temple of Soul's Retreat. It is a famous ancient temple in the south of the Yangtze River. The temple was built in 326 A.D. and has a history of over 1,600 years. I felt very peaceful when I walked around the temple. My mother lit some incense and prayed for good luck.
On the last day, we visited the National Tea Museum. We learned a lot about the history of tea and how tea is grown and processed. The most exciting part was that we tried making tea by ourselves. The tea we made tasted a little bitter, but we were still proud of it. We also bought some Longjing tea as gifts for our friends.
We took the high-speed train back home. The train was very fast and comfortable. It only took about an hour from Hangzhou to Shanghai. I fell asleep on the train because I was so tired from the trip.
This trip to Hangzhou was really unforgettable. I not only enjoyed the beautiful scenery but also learned a lot about Chinese culture and history. I hope to visit Hangzhou again some day.
