A month ago,the Brown family had a special experience.
It was evening,and after dinner Tina was making coffee in the kitchen. Her husband,Frank,was watching a comedy program on television. Upstairs(在楼上)their young daughter,Ruth,was asleep in her room,and their son,Mark,was doing homework on his computer. The weather was very good all day with a lot of sunshine. However,at the end of the afternoon,it started to change. Soon,it began to rain very heavily. Tina looked out of the window and saw storm clouds in the sky. The Browns' dog,Tilly,was in the back garden. Suddenly there was a loud crack of thunder(雷声)and Tilly quickly ran into the house.

Frank was unhappy because he couldn't watch TV. Mark shouted in his room because he couldn't use his computer. Then they heard baby Ruth crying. Frank went upstairs to look after the baby. But when he climbed the stairs,there was a loud sound and the house seemed to shake.
Frank rushed into Ruth's room and he saw something shocking. A big tree from their garden fell through the window of Ruth's room. Luckily,it missed the baby by just half a metre!
