阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
A shepherd boy(牧童) fed the sheep near a dark forest not far from the village. Some weeks later, he found life was very boring. All he could do was to amuse(消遣).
One day when he watched the sheep and the quiet forest, he thought of a way to amuse him-self. His father had told him to ask for help if there was a wolf, and the villagers would drive it away. So now, "Wolf! Wolf!"
Then, the villagers who heard "Wolf" put down their work and ran fast to him. But when they got there, they found there was no wolf and the boy was laughing at them loudly. A few days later the shepherd boy shouted again, but the boy laughed at them again.
Then one evening, a wolf really did spring(窜出) from the underbrush and ate the sheep. The boy ran to the village shouting "Wolf! Wolf!". The villagers heard the cry, but they did not run to help him as they did before. "He lies," they said. The wolf ate a great many of the boy's sheep and then slipped away(溜走) into the forest. Liars(撒谎者) are not believed even when they speak the truth.
