In many parents' eyes, their children don't like doing housework. Even if the room is untidy, they still play games instead of cleaning the room. But in Australia, Jim and Robert's mother, Mrs. Black, comes up with a good way to get her children to do housework.
“Mum, what are our next week's chores? Let Jim and me choose the cards. I can't wait. It's fun!” When Robert shouted out, his mother had already put all the cards on their big table. On the cards, there are some words like “sweep the floor” “clean your bedroom” “help Mum cook” and many others. Jim and Robert each chose two cards for each day from Monday to Friday. Then they would hang them on the weekday task board. Jim likes to clean the bathroom best, so he first picked up his favourite card “clean the bathroom”. Robert first picked up the card with “make the bed”. Then they chose chores for the next days.
To help the children know the importance of duty in the family, their mother thought hard and ended up with this idea of making them do chores happily. Of course, the parents do the chores on weekends and leave Jim and Robert two days free.
