The Ministry of Education has made a new rule to cut down on exams for primary and secondary students. The rule is to help students reduce study stress.
The number of exams is now strictly limited (限制). Grade One and Grade Two in primary schools have no written tests. Other grades in primary schools have only one final exam every term. Middle schools can have one mid-term exam and one final exam.
High schools must also strictly limit their exams. Only Grade Three students in high schools can take cross-school or district-wide (跨区的) exams. All test questions must follow curriculum standards (课程标准) and shouldn't be too difficult or tricky (刁钻的).
Schools cannot buy ready-made exam papers. *If a school is not able to make its own papers, it must use papers from the education authorities Every test paper must be checked by at least three people.
In compulsory (义务的) education, exam results must be given in grades, not scores. Schools cannot rank students according to their exam results. Exams should help teachers find students' learning gaps and improve their teaching. Schools that break this rule will face heavy punishment.

The New Education Rule
Why: Cut down on exams and reduce students’ study stress.
What:
◎ Grade One and Grade Two in primary schools: Have no written tests. Other grades in primary schools: Have one 1 every term.
◎ 2 : Have one mid-term exam and one final exam.
◎ High schools: Only Grade Three take cross-school or district-wide exams.

Other grades in primary schools have only one final exam every term.
Middle schools can have one mid-term exam and one final exam.
All test questions must follow curriculum standards and shouldn’t be too difficult or tricky.
4. ready-made 由第四段第一句 Schools cannot buy ready-made exam papers.
Every test paper must be checked by at least three people.
If a school is not able to make its own papers, it must use papers from the education authorities.
be able to 意为“能;可以”,否定形式是 be not able to,后面跟动词原形。 from the education authorities
