There are many different kinds of deer(鹿) in the world. Southern Pudus in South America are one of them.
Southern Pudus are very small. They're about the size of a medium dog. They have dark reddish-brown fur. At first, they have white spots(斑点), but when they are three months old, they have no spots on their bodies.
Southern Pudus usually live in small families in the forest, so it's not easy to see them. They feed on fruits, flowers and other plants. They don't need to drink much water because they get water from their food.
Southern Pudus are in great danger for many reasons. Many animals, like wild cats, eagles and foxes, kill them for food. What's more, people keep cutting down trees, so they have no place to live.
