One of the most interesting facts about Angel Falls is how it got its name. It was named after an American pilot. His name was Jimmy Angel. In 1937, his plane crashed near the waterfall. Though local people already knew about it, his story made it famous, and it was later named after him.
Angel Falls drops nearly a kilometre from a table-top mountain. The water seems to be dropping straight out of the clouds. The height of the waterfall is so great that by the time the water reaches the ground, it has already turned into fog(雾).
