一、阅读理解
From an early age, I have always been interested in Chinese culture. So when I had the chance to study in Beijing as an exchange student, I took it immediately. During my first day in Beijing, I felt a bit nervous because I saw few foreigners around. But on the first day of school, that changed. I met many international students from all over the world. In my class, there was Chelsea from Norway and Charlie, who was from the UK, like me.
None of us had studied Chinese before, but we improved quickly. By the end of the first month, we could all make simple sentences — though they often sounded funny and made our teacher Sophie laugh. We had a great time together.
Studying was tiring because there was so much to learn. Luckily, the school organized many activities to help us relax. We often talked about cultural differences and our future plans.
In October, my Chinese friend Zhen Hua showed me around the city and took me to some of his favourite restaurants. Chinese table manners are quite different from those in my country. Trying all kinds of Chinese food felt like a fun adventure, and I enjoyed it a lot.
My six-month stay in China made me excited. I want to visit China again and I expect to have more adventures.
