Second, it can be sent to one person, or can be received by several people at the same time. Besides, you don’t have to pay any cost or wait as long as you would for a traditional bank transfer (转账). As a whole, it’s more convenient and simpler.
However, this new technological trend (趋势) also has a negative impact on the true meaning of Chinese New Year holiday. Some elderly people complain that young people are so crazy about grabbing hongbao that they spare little time for them. What they do all day is to check their mobile phones if there’s electronic hongbao waiting for them to grab!
