Drums in space
Brenda showed great interest in music at a very young age. She had one big dream—to play the in a band. But one big problem lay . To be good enough to play in a band, Brenda had to practise a lot, but she lived next door to a lot of old people—many of them liked living in the place. She knew that the sound of beating drums would really drive them mad.
Brenda was a very good, girl. She always tried to find a way of practising her drums without troubling other people. So she had tried playing in the strangest places: a basement, a kitchen, and even in a shower. But it was no good. There was always someone to be with her when she was practising it. However, Brenda decided to practise as much as she could. She spent most of her time playing on books and boxes, and new places to practise.
One day, while watching a science programme on TV, she heard that cannot travel in space, because there's no air. At that moment, Brenda decided to become a musical astronaut.
With the help of a lot of time, a lot of books and a lot of work, Brenda built a space bubble. It was a big glass ball which was to a machine and the machine helped draw out all the air inside. All those would be left inside were drums and a chair. Brenda put on the space suit she had made, the bubble, turned on the machine, and then she played the drums like a wild child!
It wasn't long before Brenda—“The Musical Astronaut”—became very . So many people came to see her play in her space bubble. Shortly afterwards she came out of the bubble and started giving concerts. Her fame(名声) spread so that the government suggested that she could form part of a special space journey. Brenda was a real musical in the end. She had gone far her first dream of playing the drums in a band. She not only carried out scientific experiments(实验) but also tested to plant vegetables for astronauts in the space bubble.
