My favourite free-time activity is gardening. When I was seven, my grandma gave me a small pot and a packet of sunflower seeds, and we planted them together. It was so exciting to watch the first sprout come out! Now I spend every Saturday afternoon in my backyard garden, growing tomatoes, herbs, and sunflowers. But most importantly, it’s just fun—there’s nothing like the feeling of gliding across the pavement!

When I was ten, my uncle took me to a club to watch a practice. I was amazed by the discipline and focus of the practitioners. Now I go to kung fu training three times a week, and I’ve even competed in a local tournament. I love kung fu because it teaches me respect and self-control. It also keeps me strong and focused. But most importantly, I feel proud when I wear my kung fu uniform—it makes me feel connected to my culture.
