Ⅲ. 阅读短文,根据短文内容按要求完成下列任务。
China’s Great Green Wall
Throughout history, humans have left many marks on the earth—some harmful, some helpful. Desertification is a harmful mark. Without action, the ecosystem would lose its balance. But China is fighting back with a “green belt” around two of its largest deserts.
Around the Taklimakan Desert—the second largest moving sand desert in the world—workers finished a 3,046-kilometer belt of trees and grass in 2024. It is no surprise that this green belt works like a necklace to stop sand from spreading. As a result, the rapid development of technology and hard work are turning sand into green land.
In Inner Mongolia, China built an 1,856-kilometer green belt along the edges of three big deserts in 2025. This stops them from joining together and protects the Yellow River. We need to think more about how we get along with nature, and this project is a good example.
These projects are not only about planting trees. People also put solar panels on the sand to make clean energy. They grow special plants that can live in dry land and create new ways to make money, such as eco-tourism. Without pollution from coal and oil, the clean air and solar energy would help nature even more.
With new ideas and hard work, China is showing that we can’t just start over—we must take action now. Let nature have her way—with our help, not our harm. This is how we fight desertification and help both nature and people.
任务一:用文中的词语和表达完成摘要,每空不超过3个单词。

任务二:回答下列问题。
1. What does the expression “a harmful mark” in Paragraph 1 refer to? Why does the writer call it “harmful”?
2. Why is it important to fight desertification? Give at least two reasons based on the passage and your own knowledge.
